Mughlai food



Last few days of winter ! Well, heat is going to envelop us all. But, the spring is still upon us....so off I go marching to the tight confines of Chandni Chowk, the belly of the capital Delhi. Offcourse the trip is for nothing else, but a photographic pursuit, to document life and preserve them in bits and bytes. Then as soon as I reached the spot, an exciting aroma enveloped me...this place is simply surrounded by gastronomic delights. Have you ever tried doing "documenting" on an empty stomach, the camera almost seems to record the growlings in my stomach rather than the images in the electronic film.
There are two great places, Al-Jawahar and Karim's. Both are an institution in their own right, though I must confess Karim's is a place with lot more bling ! The food is simply brilliant, both have their finer points and their misses, you must have their raan and their firni, both make excellent tandoori naans and their scrumptous daal makhni. So after a hearty meal with artery clogging gravy, have you ever tasted anything worthwhile which is easy on the heart ?, off I went in search of the perfect frame. Now it is for you to judge whether I have justified in my effort or it it the kebabs talking !
